Saint Patrick’s Day is almost here. It is celebrated every 17th of March to commemorate St. Patrick. Saint Patrick is patron saint in Ireland and the Catholics started celebrating the feast day in his name then it became a national holiday. Now since the Irish immigrants bought their tradition to every country they go, it is also celebrated in England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

Who is Saint Patrick? Saint Patrick was a British son of deacon and was kidnapped by the Irish raiders when he was 16 was kept in captivity in an island in Ireland. In his dream he was talking to God and he was told to escape and return to England. He made the escape and when he reached home he joined the church to become a priest.
It was believed that the color of St. Patrick is blue at first. Then people started to wear green during his feast therefore changing the color of the feast to green. Also another aspect of this change of color is to commemorate the shamrock plant, which has 3 leaves and it was used by St. Patrick in order to explain the holy trinity in his days of priesthood.
